Marsden Flower Jade Pi
Marsden Flower Jade is probably the most beautiful of NZ Jades, although the stone is very rare, every peice is different and it's changing paterns with each cut.
During the early years in the Jade Industry in NZ this stone was concidered rubbish low grade jade and one big jade factory in Hokitika dumped tons of it into the Hokitika River during the 1960s and 1970s. Jade Carvers til this day have been trying to find exactly where the factory dumped the boulders. Most boulders only have a small amount of flowering as this is caused by oxidation with surrounding minerals over millions of years. But in recent years many jade carvers have been carving beautiful carvings and showcasing this beautiful jade stone. The pi circle of life pendants here are all unique, the beauty of the jade revealed as it ground away. The Circle pendant represents the circle of life which is has no beginning or end, and goes on forever. The stars and planets are also part of the circle of life and contain the knowledge of our origins. When used with the koru design is binding love and new beginnings with the circle of life. Flower Jade Circle of Life pendants look the best when they are bigger than 40mm round as this will showcase the beautiful flowering patterns.
